# normalizeName

Normalizes and validates a complete ENS name.

## Import

```ts
import { normalizeName } from "@ensforge/core";
```

## Usage

```ts
const name = normalizeName("ENS.eth");
```

## Parameters

### name

`string`

Name to normalize. Empty root-name input is supported where ENS permits it.

## Return Type

`NormalizedName`

Throws `NameError` when the input is not a valid ENSIP-15 name.

## Effect

```ts
const effect = normalizeName.effect("ENS.eth");
```
